Cala'n Porter is a little more commercialised than is usual in Menorca, with plenty of bars, an excellent choice of restaurants and a scattering of discos, including the popular Caves of Xoroi which are carved into the rugged rock face and turn into a disco at weekends. Cala'n Porter is a resort for the young and the young at heart, not only because of its lively weekend nightlife, but also because there are 191 steps down to the beach, hiding between towering cliffs. Of course you could always cheat and drive down by road, or catch the little train that runs frequently throughout the day and early evening. However you reach it, the beach is superb, gently shelving into clear warm Mediterranean and absolutely perfect for children of all ages.
