Next door to our Villa Jasmine in the hillside hamlet of Tselendata, Villa Pelagia is another traditional-style villa in a wonderful setting. A short drive of less than three kilometres leads to the delightful village of Fiskardo where there's an array of tavernas, gift shops, a bakery, a bank and a mini-market or two.
Built by island craftsmen specialising in traditional stone rarely used on Kefalonia today and featuring extensive use of local materials, Villa Pelagia lies behind a gated stone wall in a small garden planted with shrubs and scattered with potted plants. There are breathtaking sea views from the paved poolside terrace which is furnished for al fresco dining and leads through double doors into the house. Interior decoration is light and airy throughout, yet retains a traditional feel. A lounge area and a well-equipped kitchen/diner can be found in the L-shaped living room and a ground floor double bedroom has an en suite shower room and doors onto the poolside terrace. The two first floor bedrooms share another shower room and both enjoy those incredible sea views.
