Description: A charming village with a supermarket, a butcher, a fishmonger and a variety of places to eat including a very tempting tapas restaurant, San Josep is also within very easy reach of the sheltered, sand-fringed bay around the fishing village of Cala Vadella and the long, wide and equally family-friendly beach at Cala Tarida. Distance from airport approximately 10 kilometres.
The Island Much as today's younger visitors might like to think that they are the first to discover Ibizas' unique appeal, the island's diverse occupation over the centuries tells a different story. Culture and commerce have co-existed happily here since the time of the Phonicians a thousand years ago and with subsequent invaders including the Greeks, the Romans, the Vandals, the Arabs and the Moors, Ibiza's reputation as the island to see and be seen was well established long before today's multi-national holidaymakers arrived. Small in size, but large in atmosphere, Ibiza is an island where you can be whoeever you want to be and love it whoever you are.
The Beaches Tiny it might be, but Ibiza boasts more than eighty beaches, conveniently arranged all around the island so that if weather conditions on one coast prove unacceptable, a short trip in another direction can quickly lead to more satisfactory surroundings for sunbathing, watersports or snorkelling.
The Resorts Despite Ibizas' big reputation, this is really a fairly small island where nowhere is much more than half an hour's drive from the sea and Ibiza Town, San Antonio and Santa Eulalia are really the only three biggish towns. Delightful country pueblos and coastal villages abound however, more proof, as if it were needed, of Ibizas' infinite variety.
