Villas Monte da Luz can be found in a leafy, residential lane not far from The Ocean Club, their lovely landscaped gardens just a kilometre from the gorgeous beach at Praia da Luz. The villas are within walking distance of many amenities, but just far enough from the centre of Luz to enjoy little more than the buzzing of crickets and the pinging of nearby tennis balls.

Individually named - Jacaranda, Estrelitzia, Hibiscus and Bougainvillea - they reflect their garden surroundings, filled with bougainvillea, palms, lemon and banana trees and pretty lawns and rockeries. Each villa has its own little area of garden with a barbecue, slightly elevated from the sizeable shared swimming pool and its surrounding sun terrace. Virtually identical in design, each charming villa has a bright lounge/diner with an adjacent kitchen and doors opening onto a patio. Upstairs, reached by a staircase, a twin room has a balcony with country views and the double a south-facing balcony looking across the swimming pool to the sea. These share a bathroom.
