In an elevated location two kilometres from the market town of Estoi, the Alcaria Branca is a country villa surrounded by rugged countryside. Estoi is home to a mini-market, a bank and a post office, a few small bars and a gigantic Sunday market once a month. The area even has its own Roman ruins, dating back some two thousand years. Eight kilometres away, at the port town of Olhão, small ferries visits various gorgeous unspoilt beaches on the offshore islands.

The Alcaria Branca has an airy living room leading onto a shaded patio overlooking a pleasingly private pool area enclosed by a low whitewashed wall over which there are wonderful views across the surrounding treetops. Also on the ground floor are the kitchen, a twin bedroom and a bathroom. Upstairs, each of the bedrooms has its own en suite bathroom and, thanks to the villa's elevated position, there are panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from a large balcony adjoining the double bedroom.
